After having worked in the television and film industry for over a decade, I've decided to escape the madness and relaunch myself into the creative world of graphic design. This blog documents snippets of inspiration gathered, projects I'm working on, and miscellaneous musings. It's more of a creativity-inducing personal scrapbook than anything else, but I encourage you to peruse it's pages, and add insight and share interesting tidbits whenever possible, because they are very welcome.

Explosive Art Over Qatar

"At the Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha, Qatar this week, Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang put on his largest "explosion event" of the last three years, utilizing microchip-controlled explosives to form incredible designs and patterns. The video we've embedded of the event is an impressive testament to how a volatile black powder explosion can be controlled and shaped by computer.

Each set of explosions was calculated to paint a different picture. One series of explosions created black smoke clouds that looked like "drops of ink splattered across the sky."

In another, 8,300 shells embedded with computer microchips exploded in a pyramid shape over the desert."
- Quoted from YouTube description of the video.

The "A" Project

As part of the "A" Project, every detail has been intricately reproduced, right down to the stitching and hardware and it's crafted from high-quality oil-softened leather. An alternate black version has also been created for the 30th anniversary of the legendary manga comic created by master Katsuhiro Otomo, with "2019 A.D. 28 Neo Tokyo" replacing the original capsule graphic that graces the back of the jacket.

Sizes include medium, large, double-large, and triple-large (keep in mind that these are Japanese sizes). So come on, borrow your girlfriend's credit card, hit up Google translate, and pre-order yours today

Who do YOU write like?

I write like
Margaret Atwood
I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

but also...

I write like
Margaret Mitchell

and...

I write like
Stephen King

...so I guess that I write like a couple of Margarets and a King. That's okay with me. But I find it interesting to be compared to both a Great Canadian Feminist and the Pulitzer Prize-Winning lady responsible for Gone With The Wind. Haha! Well, at least the former gave me an inspiring nudge when I was a kid. Stephen King doesn't surprise me either - although I've never ventured too deep into his works.
